The project ITINERARY of BIOPORTRAIT by Leonardo Corallini is an itinerant container of biographical stories. Within the exhibition route emerge some examples of the development and articulated author’s linguistic research on the subject of the contemporary portrait.
Leonardo Corallini’s desire is to experience the different possibilities to bare and express the vision, the feeling, the form of authenticity of a person transposing it everytime in a different and unique movie formula.
Conceptual elaboration and a formal combination (a kind of mixed film technique) that investigate the nucleus of the uniqueness and madness of the person portrayed and on the personal idea of existence beyond the cultural and social role.
Presented at the H.D.K in Berlin in 2004, at the Nordika Gallery of Kunming in China in 2005, in Paris at the Centre Pompidou in 2015, and now here, in Venice, in a new integrated version of the new movie “248“.

BIOPORTRAIT
Bio Portrait is the “taxonomic” name given by the author to his own research on the possibilities of transposing the biographical portrait into motion pictures, into a new multifaced narrative genre.
A visual poetry that translates the personal stories of the protagonist into concepts and concept into suggestion by staging a lyrical narrative, syncopated, evocative, similar to the metre of poetry.
In BioPortrait the experimentation, mindful of the values and the historical evolutions of the portrait, recombines the proper codes of cinema – both sonorous and mute- and art – painting, photography and video-art – in a oneiric narration of images, sounds and texts in a bond of movies and installation.
248
248 seconds is a biographical portrait of Massimo Montini, the first of a series of movies belonging to the BioPortrait genre. The tale of a mental apnea. The apnea, obsession and discipline of the protagonist, is here a metaphor of an existence that tells the tale.
